FAQ

What is Chemiluminescence?

The emission of light from a chemical reaction.

How Does Glow Work?

The science is basic. Inside a plastic lightstick tube or other configuration, one liquid ingredient (which includes special fluorescers) is separated from another (an activator) either by use of an inner compartment, a plastic disk, or other sealed container. The tube is sealed. To activate, the user manipulates the configuration disengaging the barrier, enabling the two chemicals to mix, interact, and produce GLOW.

Is Glow Safe?

Yes! All Omniglow products are safe and non-toxic. They do not produce heat, flames, or sparks, and may be used in areas of combustible gasses or liquids where ordinary light sources might pose an explosion or fire hazard.

For detailed product safety information, please refer to the Health & Safety section of this web site.

How Long Does the Intensity of Glow Last?

The duration and intensity of the GLOW varies inversely: the longer the duration of light, the lower the light intensity; the greater the intensity of light, the shorter its duration.

What is the Shelf Life?

If the original wrapper, package, or tube has not been damaged, the product should have a shelf life of one to four years, depending on the size and type of product.

Is Glow Affected by Temperature?

GLOW works best at room temperature. It lasts longer but becomes less intense in cold temperatures; conversely, it GLOWs brighter but lasts for a shorter period of time in hot temperatures.

Note: Omniglow products are not recommended for use by children under age 3.
